Tanzanian gospel collective Neema Gospel Choir delivers a moving live worship experience with “Yu Upande Wangu // Daddy,” released September 16. The Swahili-English title translates to “He Is on My Side // Daddy,” and it centers on trusting God as a loving Father.
Herman Mchome wrote, composed and led this live recording, giving the song real personal weight. The track released alongside another gospel single, “Usifiwe,” as part of a special double drop. Through its worship-focused lyrics, the choir expresses gratitude for protection, healing and restoration through difficult seasons.
The production comes from a full live setup, with Victorious Production handling the recording and Fredrick Japhet Kilago serving as audio producer. JTL Horns from South Africa add a rich brass arrangement throughout. Nothing here feels understated, the whole performance carries a full, energetic live worship sound.
The choir channels bright, uplifting harmonies with urgent, rhythmic vocal phrasing throughout the record. Lead and backing groups trade dynamic exchanges that raise the emotional intensity.
