Barbara Hackett Biography
Barbara Kloka Hackett was a federal judge who served on the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan from 1928 until her death in 2018.
On February 11, 1986, President Ronald Reagan (R) of the United States nominated Hackett to fill the seat formerly held by Charles Joiner. On March 27, 1986, she was granted confirmation by the Senate of the United States, and on April 7, 1986, she was commissioned. On April 8, 1997, she became a senior member of the team. Up until the day she retired on March 1, 2000, she was an attorney for the Eastern District of Michigan. George Steeh was the one who eventually took over for Hackett in this role.
Hackett passed away on December 23, 2018, when he was 90 years old.
