An outstanding officer in the Indian Administrative Service (IAS), Swadha Dev Singh has been recognized for his exceptional public sector services. She was born in a tiny town in Uttar Pradesh, India, where she also spent her childhood and finished her education, which the local government provided.

After that, she got her undergraduate degree in Economics from Lady Shri Ram College, Delhi University. After that, she went on to earn her graduate degree in Economics from the Delhi School of Economics. Both degrees were in the same subject.

Swadha succeeded on her first try in the Civil Services Examination, held in 2008 by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC). She received an All India Rank (AIR) of 33 for her efforts. Her first position was as an Assistant Collector in the Jhansi district after being granted the Uttar Pradesh cadre for her career. Following her fellowship’s conclusion, Swadha returned to India to continue working as the Chief District Officer for Sultanpur. In 2020, Swadha was appointed Special Secretary in the Uttar Pradesh government with the Agriculture Production Commissioner (APC) title.
