Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp are now inaccessible.

Many people are unable to access Facebook, WhatsApp, and Instagram at the present time.

Several minutes before 5 p.m. on Monday, October 4th, 2021, these three applications, which are all owned by Facebook and which use shared infrastructure, were all totally decommissioned.

A number of other similar products from the same family of apps, such as Facebook Workplace, were also affected by the outage.

Visitors to the Facebook website were merely presented with an error page or a notice stating that their browser was unable to establish a connection.

During the outages, the WhatsApp and Instagram applications continued to function, but no new information was shown, including any messages written or received during the outage.
